NC Education welcomes the smooth start of #MatricExams

Department spokesman Geoffrey van der Merwe told OFM News that the National Senior Certificate Examination (NSC) has got off to a smooth start in the province. He says 13,056 full-time registered candidates showed up for English on Wednesday at 149 exam centers across the province. Van der Merwe adds that no issues or issues have been reported at any of their testing centers. Meanwhile, Prime Minister Zamani Saul urged grade 12 students and educators to abide by Covid-19 regulations after “the province has struggled to deal with the spread of the virus, which has forced many schools to close their doors for decontamination processes.

Saul said teachers and learners should at all times ensure they wear masks, disinfect themselves and maintain social distancing.

“The department has placed monitors in each of these centers to make sure everything is going as planned. We are satisfied with the way our exam centers administer the 2021 National Senior Certificate Exam. We will continue to monitor and evaluate the operations at all exam centers during the duration of the National Senior Certificate Examinations ”, adds Van der Merwe.
